HUMAN DESIGN 101: The Incarnation Crosses

The incarnation crosses essentially represent the lifelong purpose we are here to fulfill during our time on Earth.

They are composed of the gates in your conscious sun, unconscious sun, conscious earth, and unconscious earth (the top two icons on both the left and the right).

These are important, because according to Human Design, our sun and earth energies have a huge impact on our charts. The personality sun alone is 70% of our energy imprint!

HOW TO FIND YOUR INCARNATION CROSS

  1. Get your free Human Design chart HERE. The name of your incarnation cross will be near the bottom — it will say “[right or left] cross of [theme]”

  2. Once you know the name of your cross, find the meaning HERE.

There are 192* total possibilities. I would list them all out, but I’m not insane. So you can just go to the site above to find yours.

*BTW – the direction and number combinations matter, so make sure they match exactly to your order of numbers, like 32/42 | 56/60 instead of 42/32 | 56/60.

LEFT ANGLE, RIGHT ANGLE, AND JUXTAPOSITION

There are 3 kinds of prefixes you can have in front of your incarnation cross.

Left Angle – Your purpose is transpersonal, meaning you must interact with others to fulfill it.

Right Angle – Your purpose is solely personal, meaning you work alone to fulfill it.

Juxtaposition – Your purpose is your purpose regardless of interaction or no interaction. Universe don’t really give a holy heck gosh darn if anyone else is there for the ride with you. Just get it done, okay?

WHY IS IT CALLED AN INCARNATION CROSS? THERE’S NOTHING CROSSING ON THE CHART. YOU’RE DUMB, ARIANA.

No, YOU’RE DUMB!

Okay… we’re both dumb.

Anyway, the gates actually DO cross, just not on the basic Quantum chart (above).

The cross shows up visually on the Rave Mandala (below), which shows how all of the different parts of Human Design – I Ching, the zodiac, the hexagram, Kabbalah, and the chakra system –  come together.

This covers all the same things as the quantum chart. It’s just formatted differently.

This is my rave mandala. And you thought it couldn’t get more complicated.

The gates are represented on the mandala as colored-in slices. The conscious sun and earth are across from  each other, as are the unconscious sun and earth.

How they intersect in the middle determines the cross.

(You can find your rave mandala under MyBodyGraphs by clicking VIEW > MODE > RAVE MANDALA.)

I CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHAT MY INCARNATION CROSS MEANS, HOW IT APPLIES TO MY LIFE, OR HOW TO USE IT. WHY?

4 possible reasons:

  1. Your incarnation cross only comes into play when you’re living your design. Traditionally, they say it’s 7 years into your design. If you’re not using your strategy, you’re not going to be able to see the theme of your cross really come to life.

  2. You might not be looking at the right incarnation cross. Ex: My mom has the Right Angle Cross of Penetration (57/51 | 53/54), but at first, we accidentally looked at the Right Angle Cross of Penetration (51/57 | 53/54) and it was TOTALLY wrong. We looked at the correct one and it sounds exactly like her.

  3. There is not one specific way that things play out or express themselves in you. Your purpose is a general theme. You can play out that theme in many ways. Take my incarnation cross, The Left Angle Cross of Limitation. This cross indicates an ability to see limitations and work with them to succeed – because people with this cross have a nose for what will/won’t work. That can be applied to SO many different things! Jobs, businesses, relationships, helping people make decisions, finding ways to fix environmental decline, etc!

Also, remember that interpretations can be fluid. You might have a slightly different interpretation. Use your intuition on this!
